Abbie O’Neill

Abbie O’Neill Position: Year 5 Team, KS2 English

Abbie is returning to Malaysia after a two year teaching stint in Yorkshire, UK. She had previously worked and lived in Kuala Lumpur for three years and enjoyed it so much here that she couldn’t resist coming back again.

During her time in Yorkshire, Abbie taught Year 5 for two consecutive years in Bradford which allowed her to develop her teaching practice through a different environment setting. Prior to her earlier stint in Malaysia, Abbie studied Law at Leeds Law School during which she was also active in local politics. Additionally, she also obtained a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University and is a certified Level 1 Google Educator.

Abbie first discovered her passion for working with children during a summer in Italy, where she was employed as an in-house babysitter and has subsequently worked with children in a variety of settings. Since becoming a teacher, she has relished encouraging the love of learning and developing a culture of curiosity and kindness in her classroom.

Abbie was born in Liverpool but moved to beautiful North Yorkshire with her family when she was six. Due to her birthplace and family, Abbie’s biggest passion (aside from education) is Liverpool Football Club. Abbie is also an avid reader and loves attending concerts and collecting vinyl for her record collection.
