Allan is Northern Irish although he has spent the last 5 years living and working in England. He joined SJIIM from The Vyne Community School in the South of England, Hampshire, where he was working for 2 years as an Art and Photography Teacher. His previous experience was in another school in the same area, where he was also working as an Art Teacher. Before teaching, he studied for a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art with the University of Plymouth, England. He then went on to study for a PGCE with QTS with the University of Cumbria, England. In addition to classroom teaching, he has been involved with the ‘Unicef Rights Respecting’ programme in his school, which has involved organising events to raise money for Unicef. He has also been involved in Parent focus-groups, as well as extra- curricular activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. He looks forward in being part of St Joseph’s exciting journey as a young school and having the opportunity to help develop and build the futures of the students. Aside from teaching, he loves mountain walking, jogging and cycling, and exploring new places and cuisine – all reasons for which he looks forward to life in Malaysia!
