Anton Bush Position: IGCSE Coordinator & Maths teacher

Anton joined us from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in the UK where he was working for the last 4 years as an assistant head with responsibility for assessment and standards. Anton has led initiatives in a number of schools in the use of assessment data to maximise student progress and to communicate this progress effectively with parents. A maths teacher with almost 20 years of experience teaching in comprehensive and grammar schools, Anton has a particular specialism in pure maths and mechanics. He is keen to emphasise the real world application of mathematics in his lessons and making connections across the curriculum whenever possible. His lessons are designed to build the confidence, independence and resilience of his students, whilst also developing their curiosity and appreciation of the inherent beauty of mathematics. After gaining a 1st Class Honours degree in electronic engineering from the University of York, Anton worked as a research telecommunications engineer and contributed to a number of international projects. Anton is a keen guitarist and keeps fit by cycling, taking country walks and playing 5 aside football. He also enjoys cooking, using vegetables grown on his allotment whenever possible.
