Barbara joined us from another international school in Malaysia, where she taught the IGSCE English curriculum to KS3 and KS4 students. Before that, she worked at the NCUK centre in Shenyang (China) teaching English for Academic Purposes, where she contributed to winning two international awards for Outstanding Academic Performance on a Pre-Master’s Program (EAP constituted 80% of the mark). Most of her career unfolded in the UK at various institutions including: Doncaster College, Wakefield College and University of Huddersfield. Barbara gained her undergraduate degree from a Polish University (Language and Literature), followed up by completing her Master’s at Bradford University (UK) in Linguistics. Her initial intention was to become a Linguistics Lecturer, though gradually she found her niche in teaching Language and Literature to young adults. Barbara’s personal interests include American politics, theological reading, theatre and baking.
