Hannah comes from rural Northamptonshire, UK, where she spent a happy childhood and developed her love of sport, especially hockey. She gained a BA Hons. Degree with Qualified Teacher Status in Birmingham City University. Her career has provided her with a range of experiences in greatly differing schools internationally and in the UK, teaching classes of pupils from Nursery to Key Stage 2 and coordinating P.E, Science, and RSE. She is proud to have started her career 13 years ago, in an inner-city, multicultural school in Birmingham where she was able to successfully gain the pastoral and educational skills needed to teach children with a variety of social, language and educational needs. She then welcomed the opportunity to teach abroad in an outstanding International school in Shanghai, China, and enjoyed celebrating the range of children’s backgrounds, diverse cultures and valuing different views and perspectives. She has always made it a priority to acknowledge the different learning styles and interests.
In 2010, together with her husband, Chris, she went to teach on the beautiful island of Penang, Malaysia, and became totally immersed in the culture and way of life – and loved the food!
Sport has continued to be part of Hannah’s life. She has been involved in organising sports teams and activities wherever she has taught, and was proud to take her school to the FOBISEA games in Beijing. Hannah’s philosophy of education has always been to ensure children are happy and enthusiastic, highly motivated and confident. This provides the foundation upon which successful learning can thrive. Her classrooms are vibrant, stimulating and exciting learning environments with encouragement for each individual.
