Lucy was born and grew up in London. She gained a BSc (Hons) degree from Staffordshire University and then went on to complete the Graduate Teaching Programme and gained QTS in 2007. Lucy was part of a successful Primary School in North London where she had been teaching for 9 years. Throughout her teaching career she has strived to inspire, encourage and challenge children to become inquisitive, creative and engaged learners – something that is at the forefront of the children’s education here at St Joseph’s.
Previously Lucy was part of her school’s Senior Leadership Team and held the position of SENCo and the School Based Tutor for undergraduates and Newly Qualified Teachers. Lucy gained the National Accreditation for Special Educational Needs Coordinators from the Institute of Education – UCL and firmly believes that the academic, social, emotional and spiritual growth of a child should be encouraged and nurtured.
Lucy’s particular interests are researching and reading about new and exciting initiatives such as Carol Dweck’s Growth Mindset and Stephen Heppell’s Journey to Excellence – this is where children are taught capacities, attitudes, capabilities and skills to achieve their very best.
Lucy has enjoyed being a founding member of staff and with her new role as Assistant Principal hopes to continue to support SJII Malaysia into another successful year.
