Mirrell was born in Saskatoon, Canada. Most recently, she arrived in Malaysia from Lahore, Pakistan where she was the Director of Guidance at Lahore America School for two years. Before that, she lived in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where she was the Secondary School Counsellor for grades 6-12. She has just completed the UCLA College Counselling Program. She has a Master’s Degree in International Counselling from Lehigh University, a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern Queensland in TESOL, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Political Science. Before she was a counselor, she was an assistant professor at Hanyang University and Korea University where she supported academic skills development to university students. Some of Mirrell’s best accomplishments include setting up two dynamic counselling offices, parent volunteer programs in the counselling office, healthy transition programs for graduating seniors, holding university fairs, and implementing college counselling workshops by esteemed college admissions representatives. She is most proud of the 100% college acceptance rate for all seniors at the schools she has tenured. Her teaching philosophy gravitates towards setting students up for success in college, career and life. On a personal note, Mirrell is an avid runner, love to garden and cook. She is an animal lover and also practices yoga and mindfulness.
