Rebecca is from England and joined us in 2018 from GEMS Wellington School, Qatar. Rebecca’s previous experience in Qatar was in establishing the Secondary Humanities department for both Geography and History at Key Stage Three level and implementing the IGCSE programme. She was also the lead coordinator for the schools’ first overseas community based student expedition to Kenya. Rebecca has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Human Geography from Manchester Metropolitan University and also a PGCE with QTS in Secondary Geography from the University of Cumbria. In addition to Rebecca’s International school experience her teaching background also incorporates 3 years English Language teaching, where she completed her CELTA qualification at the British Council in Kuala Lumpur. Rebecca’s particular interests are in the continual development of teaching strategies and methodologies to encourage pupils to actively engage with the learning process allowing them to enhance and enrich their learning experience. Rebecca’s passion for her subject extends beyond the classroom and in her free time she enjoys travelling and experiencing new cultures, with recent trips taking her to Uganda and Japan. She also has a love for photography and has recently taken up yoga.
