Sam joins us from the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates where he was leading a pilot project on the development of a National Careers and University Guidance Curriculum for secondary school students. This work involved developing curriculum, training teachers and working with a wide range of students, school leaders, universities and government departments to develop progression pathways to further and higher education. His previous international experience includes five years of working at private international schools as a University and Careers Guidance Counsellor in Doha, Qatar and Jeju Island, South Korea. Sam has a First Class Honours Degree in Film Production from the Northern Film School at Leeds Metropolitan University. After completing his degree, he trained in further education teaching and gained professional qualifications in guidance and counselling whilst working at a further education college and a secondary school in the north east of England. Sam has an interest in pastoral education and enjoys helping students to discover more about themselves and then supporting them to use this information to make informed decisions about their future. Sam is moving to Malaysia with his wife Jenna and his son Leo. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, football and spending time with his family.
