Happy Virtual Founder’s Day!

This 15 May 2020, SJIIM and Lasallians around the world are celebrating Founder’s Day. It is a tribute to St. John Baptist de La Salle, the founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, which is universally known today as Lasallian education. He was also a pioneer in founding training colleges for teachers, reform schools for delinquents, technical schools and secondary schools for modern languages, arts, and sciences. His work quickly spread through France and even after his death in 1719, continued to spread across the globe.

To commemorate this occasion virtually, student leaders from the Lasallian Youth Movement of our school recently produced a Founder’s Day Greeting Card which features the members of our school community with their respective Founder’s Day message. All our students are also dressed in their school uniforms today as we celebrate the life story of our Founder and on a lighter note, all our families will also have their traditional Founder’s Day ice cream today at 730 pm.

Resonating with De La Salle’s mission to teach minds, touch hearts and transform lives, may the greetings of our school community serve as a friendly reminder to all about the importance of upholding our moral and civic values especially in this testing time of strength and recovery for communities around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay strong and safe everyone! Ora et Labora!
