The SJIIS Sixth Form delivers internationally recognised AS and A Level qualifications in small classes, with six hours of specialist teaching per subject each week.
Choosing between three or four A Level subjects, students are supported by expert teachers who know them well and challenge them to achieve their full academic potential.
Beyond their subjects, all students complete the OxfordAQA Extended Project Qualification, following a rigorous research programme led by inquiry, giving them an edge for competitive university applications.
Beyond the classroom, our students are unapologetically ambitious, cultivating their interests through our Pathways Programme, Project Connect internship programe, Lasallian service learning projects, leadership opportunities and co-curricular activities prepare them for university and the world beyond school.

A weekly programme led by industry experts, exploring contemporary ideas and real-world challenges while helping students deepen their subject knowledge and build a distinctive academic profile for competitive university applications.
All students complete the Extended Project Qualification alongside their A Levels, producing either a 5,000-word research project or an independent artefact. Through guided research and critical thinking, they develop the skills of university-level inquiry, with opportunities to publish their work in international journals. The EPQ strengthens competitive university applications by enabling students to demonstrate genuine subject specialism.
Project Connect bridges the gap between education and the world of work by connecting students to internships lasting up to 6 weeks. Through meaningful internships, employer encounters and connections with our alumni network, students explore possible careers while developing communication, collaboration, initiative and professional confidence. These experiences help them thrive in a rapidly changing world.
University guidance at SJIIS begins with the student, not the application. Each student receives a bespoke strategy shaped around their strengths, ambitions and preferred destinations. From university selection and application writing to admissions tests, Oxbridge interviews and Medicine MMIs, our specialist team provides targeted support at every stage. University visits (including an annual UK University Trip), expert-ledworkshops and alumni connections give students the insight and confidence to turn ambitious aspirations into competitive applications.

This hands-on approach develops social

Students choose three or four subjects from a wide range of options, allowing them to either specialise in a particular area or pursue a broad academic pathway.
Students can also opt for the Cambridge International Project Qualification (IPQ), a 5,000-word research project that enhances inquiry, independent study and analytical skills. This highly valued qualification strengthens university applications, particularly for research-intensive disciplines.
Lasallian Core (LEdu) is not a subject but is a non-examinable enrichment programme for all Sixth Form students, with weekly sessions led by the Lasallian Brothers. It includes hands-on activities, group work, and reflection, and is a key part of your learning journey at SJIIS. No entry requirements are needed.

Most students take three A Level subjects, while a four-subject programme may be suitable for those with a strong academic profile. It may also be necessary for certain university destinations. Each student receives individual guidance to select subjects that reflect their strengths, interests and intended university pathway.
Students receive six hours of specialist teaching per subject every week. A Level classes are capped between 15 and 18 students, with the average class size at 10 students. This allows teachers to know each student well, identify gaps quickly and provide meaningful individual challenge and support.

Yes. We welcome students from international, private and national schools who have completed IGCSE, SPM or an equivalent qualification. Each application is considered individually, taking account of the student’s results, English proficiency and readiness for their intended A Level subjects.
Around one in four students joins us from another school, drawn by our outstanding results, small classes and personalised preparation for university. New students are welcomed quickly into our close-knit Lasallian community with assigned buddies and bring valuable experiences and perspectives that enrich the entire cohort.
Students do not need to have their entire future mapped out before joining. Our academic and university guidance teams help each student explore their strengths, compare degree and career pathways, and select an appropriate combination of subjects. The weekly Pathways Programme and Project Connect also provide opportunities to investigate different disciplines and careers before making important decisions.
Yes. All students complete the research project for the Extended Project Qualification alongside their A Levels, producing either a 5,000-word research project or an independent artefact. The EPQ develops university-level research and critical-thinking skills, allows students to demonstrate genuine subject specialism and may create opportunities for their work to be published in international journals.
Students may choose whether to submit their EPQ to Oxford AQA for a grade or to an international journal for publication instead.
University guidance at SJIIS is personalised rather than one-size-fits-all. Each student receives a bespoke application strategy covering course and university selection, application writing, admissions tests and interviews. Specialist preparation is available for Oxbridge, Medicine, Law and other highly competitive pathways, alongside support for applications to leading universities across the UK, Asia, Australia, North America and beyond.
Our wider Sixth Form programme is designed to develop the whole person. Students participate in the weekly Pathways Programme, the EPQ, internships of up to six weeks through Project Connect, the Lasallian Education Programme, service projects, leadership opportunities and the Lasallian Formation Camp. Together, these experiences develop intellectual curiosity, professional confidence, compassion and purpose.
All students benefit from IELTS-preparation sessions. SJIIS either hosts IELTS testing on campus or makes exclusive group bookings, making it easier for students to secure the English-language qualification required by many international universities.
