Founder’s Day Celebration | 16 May 2019

In conjunction with the Tercentenary of St. John Baptist de La Salle’s entry into eternal life, SJIIM will be celebrating his memory with a Founder’s Day Celebration on the 16 th of May 2019. St. John Baptist de La Salle was the founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools which is universally known today as Lasallian education. He was also a pioneer in founding training colleges for teachers, reform schools for delinquents, technical schools and secondary schools for modern languages, arts, and sciences. His work quickly spread through France and after his death in 1719, continued to spread across the globe.

As a prelude to the celebration, students from the Lasallian Youth Movement of our Elementary School recently produced a video about the importance of the virtue of kindness to everyone in school through the practice of using kind words and gestures. In resonating with De La Salle’s mission to spread kindness, may this video serve as a friendly reminder to all about the importance of being nice to not only everyone in school but to the community as a whole. Ora et Labora!
