Announcement: St Joseph’s Institution International School Achieves Prestigious ISQM Gold Rating

St Joseph’s Institution International School (SJIIS) is proud to announce that it has officially been awarded the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM) at Gold level by the Education Development Trust. Following a rigorous four-day verification inspection in March 2026, SJIIS achieved Grade 1 (Outstanding) judgements across all primary core categories: Standards and Achievement, Teaching and Learning, and Leadership and Management.

Valid from March 2026 to March 2031, this prestigious accreditation independently validates SJIIS’s alignment with elite international benchmarks and its unwavering dedication to continuous improvement.

A Reflection of All-Round Excellence

The ISQM Gold award recognises that the school successfully blends top-tier academic progression with its holistic Lasallian mission. In the report summary, inspectors highlighted several foundational strengths:

  • Academic Attainment: “Pupils’ attainment and progress in the core subjects of English, mathematics, and science are outstanding across all phases.”

  • Quality of Instruction: “Teaching, learning and assessment are consistently outstanding. A shared understanding of high-quality learning is embedded across the school.”

  • Values-Driven Culture: “Lasallian tradition strongly shapes the academic and pastoral life of the school.”

  • Community Synergy: “Partnerships with parents are highly effective and characterised by high levels of trust and engagement.”

Deepening the Impact: Insights from the Report

Outstanding Academic Progress

From the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through to IGCSE and A-Level pathways, the inspection team observed accelerated learning from varied student starting points.

“At IGCSE, 94% of pupils achieve high pass rates in English language and English literature, with many attaining the highest grades of A* to B.”

In Mathematics and Science, standards consistently “exceed the standards achieved in England” and remain “well above international averages,” driven by an ambitious, carefully sequenced curriculum.

2. Exemplary Student Personal Development

The report thoroughly praised SJIIS students for their character, leadership, and positive attitudes towards learning. With an impressive attendance rate of 96.7% (surpassing UK averages), students thrive in a calm, welcoming environment.

“Pupils’ behaviour throughout the school is exemplary… They take great pride in creating a warm, tolerant, and welcoming environment where all can flourish in their learning.”

The inspection noted that the core values of faith, service, and community are visible daily through student-led initiatives like the elementary ‘Change Makers’ and the Lasallian Youth Movement.

3. Visionary Leadership & Management

The report commended the Head of School, the board of governors, and middle leaders for successfully navigating recent milestones—including the school’s growth to 1,050 pupils and the flawless transition to Cambridge and AQA A-Level provision.

“Senior leaders, the board of governors, teachers and subject leaders demonstrate a leadership culture that is strategic, principled and firmly rooted in the school’s Lasallian ethos.”

Looking Forward

While celebrating this milestone, SJIIS remains committed to developmental growth. In line with ISQM’s recommendations, school leaders are already refining data tracking across departments to ensure lesson plans deliver optimised, differentiated challenge for both high-attaining students and English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners.

SJIIS extends its deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff, exceptionally motivated students, and supportive parents who make our community a beacon of outstanding international education.
